2012 Balloons over Branson Creek

If you have always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon or you appreciate the beautiful ballons lighting up the skyline, now is your chance to enjoy both. The Balloons over Branson Creek is back for 2012! The party starts on Friday October 19th and runs until Sunday October 21st. This exciting event will include live music, hot air balloon rides, a 5K fun run, food and craft vendors, parachute competition, dog walk, free hay rides, kid’s crafts and inflatable’s, plus much more. Please bring blankets and lawn chairs but no coolers, outside food, or alcohol will be allowed. Balloons over Branson Creek will be held at the Communities at Branson Creek, 4 miles south of Hwy 76 and Hwy 65 intersection at the Branson Airport Exit in Hollister, MO.

39th Annual Autumn Daze Arts & Crafts Festival

The 39th Annual Autumn Daze Arts & Crafts Festival is a three day event that runs September 13-15, 2012 that brings over 100 art and craft vendors, nonstop entertainment, seasonal homemade artwork, and much more. 2012 holds a special meaning for the festival this year for the Branson Centennial Celebration. The festival is held in Historic Downtown Branson which in itself holds many unique shops, a variety of restaurants, and attractions.

Shoppers and browsers will find a wide array of clothing, carvings, garden, fine art, photography, quilting, collectables, and more among the many booths. All of the artists and vendors make all of the items you see by hand. Many of the vendors will also be demonstrating their craft to the public as well.

To keep your toes tapping some of Branson’s best entertainers will be featured on stage each and every day, then top it off with a Rock & Roll street dance on Friday kicking off at 6:30 pm.
Located in Downtown Branson this free festival is sure to keep you busy while you visit vendors from around the country, visit the food court, Downtown Branson sidewalk sale, and even a celebrity autograph booth!

For even more convenience take a ride on the Downtown Branson Trolley. The Downtown Branson Trolley makes a loop around the Downtown area so you can park anywhere and ride the trolley to different shops and the Branson Landing shopping area.

If you need a break from the festival take some time to visit the Branson Centennial Museum also located in Downtown Branson. The Museum houses exhibits sharing the rich heritage, history, and culture of Branson, MO. This is a rotating display that changes every 6-8 weeks. The hours for the Branson Centennial Museum are Monday through Saturday from 10-4 and Sunday 1-4.

Hot Air Balloon Festival at Branson Creek

hot air balloon festival branson moThe first ever ” Balloons Over Branson Creek ” Festival heats up on Oct 21st and 22nd. This event sounds like it will be a lot of fun. The  weekend festival will feature a Hot Air Balloon competition, Powered Parachutes, Sky Divers, live music, vendors, a photo contest sponsored by Lawrence Photo and Video, a Dog walk on the trails at Branson Creek presented by Pet Warehouse and the Branson Parks & Recreation Department and an outdoor family movie under the stars.

The event starts at 6 PM Friday with a “Kick Off Party” that includes a bbq, live music, and a ride in a tethered hot air balloon. Tickets for the Kick Off Party are $20.

Saturday is free, and events include a Balloon Competition, the Dog Walk on Branson Creek walking trails,  a powered parachute display ( 5 PM ),  a Balloon Glow ( at dusk),and an outdoor family movie on a huge outdoor movie screen ( at dark).  Food, drinks, and t-shirts are available. And for the those who would like to ride in a hot air balloon, a ride can be purchased.

Lawn chairs, blankets, cameras and video recorders are fine to bring along, but coolers and/or alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

Fall Running In The Ozarks

Lace up your running shoes and take off through the orange and gold fallen leaves and crisp autumn air. As the Ozark Mountain Ridge Runner’s say, “Train for the health of it…..race for the fun of it!” Fall is the best time of year to load up your family and head to a local running event. Combining fun and fitness with helping others. All entry fees are donated to the specific cause or charity. From 1 mile fun walk/runs, to the challenging 26.2 mile marathon.
