Shoji and Roy Acuff
Posted on March 28th, 2011
Shoji Tabuchi, who’s been playing the violin since he was seven years old, met Roy Acuff when the country music star toured Japan. Acuff invited Tabuchi to visit him in Nashville if the youngster ever came to America. After finally getting to the United States and spending 11 years playing in Louisiana, Kansas City and San Francisco, Tabuchi made the journey to Nashville. Acuff arranged for him to perform on the Grand Ole Opry and more appearances following. In 1980, Tabuchi came to Branson and a few years later built his own theatre where he’s been performing ever since.
