Motorcycle Touring
The Ozark Mountains have become well known as one of the nation’s premier areas for motorcycle touring. Southern Missouri and northern Arkansas offers a multitude of perfectly paved, twisty roads, with banked turns, wooded scenery, ancient bluffs, magnificent views, lots of lakes and rivers, and not a lot of traffic. There are dozens of great twisting routes, with some so popular that they have been given their own distinguishing name, including the “Ozark Moonshine Run”, and “Scenic Hwy 7” also called the “Grand Canyon of the Ozarks”. Another biker’s favorite is the popular cruise from Branson to Eureka Springs, AR, called “Little Switzerland”. “Peel’s Ferry Route” takes you across Bull Shoals Lake on a free ferry. Thirty five miles north of Branson, is the famous Route 66 and an hour and a half southwest of Branson is “The Pig Trail” scenic byway. So if you’re a bike enthusiast, pack your gear, fire up your steel pony, and discover the fun that awaits you in the Ozark Mountains.

The Ozark Moonshine Run is a beautiful route that winds through the most scenic areas in the Ozark Mountains. The route officially begins in Harrison Arkansas ( 35 miles south of Branson on Hwy 65 ) and takes you along scenic Hwy 7, known as “the Grand Canyon of the Ozarks”. The southern and western parts of the route travels through several small Arkansas towns that will make you feel like you have stepped back in time to a slower paced lifestyle. As you loop back to the north you travel through the upper Buffalo River Wilderness. This river valley is part of the National Park system and is well known for magnificent ridgetop views, ancient limestone bluffs, and abundant wildlife including a growing Elk herd most commonly seen around Boxley. Jasper has several good restaurants that serve home cooked meals at low prices including the Ozark Cafe that opened it’s doors in 1909. The Cliff House restaurant( Hwy 7 south of Jasper ) is another great lunch stop with an amazing view.
