Catch the Holiday Spirit at Silver Dollar City’s “An Old Time Christmas”. Good Morning America named Silver Dollar City’s Holiday festival “one of the top 5 Holiday events in the country”. Come visit Nov 5th to Dec 30th and you will see why. Unbelievable Holiday lighting displays, exciting shows and musical entertainment, a daily Christmas parade, thrilling rides, and fantastic food all await you.
Silver Dollar City is lit up like never before with over 4 million dazzling lights
throughout the park. “Christmas on Main Street”, is their biggest light show ever. You will be amazed by the musical 5-story Tall Christmas Tree as its one million lights twinkle and dance in unison with the music of the season.
The sounds of the season can be heard throughout the park with free shows such as The Living Nativity and Frosty! You can even see the jolly old elf himself at Kringles Krossing. Christmas on the Bayou, featuring Louisiana Music Hall of Fame Member Cedric Benoit and the entire Cajun Connection Band will add a little seasoning to the festivities. Silver Dollar City’s grandest production show ever, A Dickens’ Christmas Carol is an original musical adaptation of the classic novella by Charles Dickens. This story tells of the sour and stingy Ebenezer Scrooge’s transformation after the supernatural visits of Jacob Marley, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. This production features a live band, a talented cast, astounding special effects, stunning Victorian scenery and period costuming.
Ablaze with over 100,000 lights, the Gifts of Christmas Holiday Light Parade can be seen through the streets of the Park twice each evening.
Have lunch with Santa and Mrs. Claus as they serve up a feast at Silver Dollar City’s Reunion Hall!! You can take pictures with St. Nick, and enjoy sing-along songs with Santa’s friends! Great dining can be found at many other locations around the City as well as the many restaurants at Silver Dollar City feature special items as part of their Tastes of the Season. In addition to festive feasts and holiday treats, you can learn new recipes for your Christmas celebrations at Silver Dollar City’s Culinary & Craft School.
Many rides remain open during the Holiday Festival. Fire-In-The-Hole, Flooded Mine, Frisco Sing-Along Steam Train, Geyser Gulch, Grandfather’s Mansion, Homestead Barnyard, and Marvel Cave are all open during An Old Time Christmas. Other rides like The Giant Swing, Hi-Lo Silos, Powder Keg, River Blast, Thunderation, WildFire, The Grand Exposition, and Electro-Spin are open as long as the temperature is warm enough. Each ride has its own minimum temperature, but most of them range from 35 to 40 degrees.
Don’t miss the special performance on Nov 10th of the United States Air Force Band, Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble. This 18-piece big band has a diverse repertoire of traditional swing, bebop, modern jazz, vocal selections, and more, and will be performing at 3 PM at the Red Gold Heritage Hall.
You can pick up a few unique gifts at one of Silver Dollar City’s well known craft and specialty shops. You can watch the demonstrating craftsmen at work making the items on their shelves.
