You will visit many interesting locations on the homestead tour. Old Matt’s Cabin, standing in its original location, is home to the books main character. Inspiration Point offers breath taking views of rolling Ozarks Hills. A monument is located in the spot where author Harold Bell Wright camped when inspired to write about the common folks of the Ozarks creating The Shepherd of the Hills. Morgan Community Church was moved to Inspiration Point, and is very similar to the southern Missouri churches that Harold Bell Wright ministered in. The Church is also host to current day weddings. At the Old Mill Theater you will be able to go behind the scenes and take a peak at what goes on for the nightly performances. Finally, you will get a chance to visit Jenning’s Still and get a genuine look at the making of moonshine.
Experience the history of the Ozarks on a jeep-drawn guided tour, and learn about the rich history and the legend of the Shepherd of the Hills.
