Overview
Starting out as the basement of a boy’s dorm, and housing mostly stuffed birds and butterflies the Ralph Foster Museum was first expanded in 1969 when Ralph Foster took an interest and donated a large collection of Western and Native American artifacts. With several expansions following is the years later the museum has helped to preserve the history and culture of the Ozarks. Most famously located at the Ralph Foster Museum is the original truck from the Beverly Hillbillies T.V. series. There is a little something for everyone with animal displays, antiques, weapons, personal collections, toys, and household items. Mixed among the unique look of the museum there are clocks, rocks, stamps, cowboy and Indian items.
The museum also recognizes local heroes such as Lloyd Presley, Rose O’Neill, Harold Bell Wright, and Bob Mabe. You can also browse through the office displays of the “offices” of previous College presidents.
Visit the College of the Ozarks Ralph Foster Museum and you are sure to enjoy a leisurely trip through the culture and history of the Ozarks.
